Situated along the right bank of the river Seine in the 1st arrondissement, is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris. This small district is dominated by some of the city's must-see attractions: the Louvre Museum, Tuileries Gardens, Orangerie Museum, Place de la Concorde and Palais-Royal. Running through the center is the Rue de Rivoli where you will find international shopping at its best and plenty of cafés and restaurants. Easily accessible on foot by crossing Pont Neuf are Cathedral Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergerie. The Musée d’Orsay is only a few minutes’ walk from the Tuileries Gardens across the footbridge Passerelle Solferino. Altogether the area of the Louvre is a very central position and a good starting point for exploring all of Paris.
