Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main differences between renting an apartment in Paris and staying in a Hotel?

Renting a furnished apartment  gives you the opportunity to live like a local. As well as more space, an apartment is normally less expensive than a  hotel. In an apartment, you will have extra space for relaxing and a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals, if you prefer.

How can I be sure to make the right apartment choice?

To help you with your choice we offer the following good information.

  • Several pictures of each apartment.
  • We explain how the apartment is organized and describe the neighborhood.
  • You can see where the apartment is located on Google maps.
  • We are here to answer all your questions over the phone or by email to help you in choosing the right apartment.

How are the apartments equipped?

All our apartments are equipped with bed linens, bath towels and kitchen towels. You will also find hair dryer, iron and ironing board, crockery, cook ware, coffee maker and toaster.  You will have to bring any converter or adaptors you may need.

What is included in the price you see on Absolute Accommodations website?

The price you see when you search an apartment on our website is the total of what you will have to pay, nothing more.  This includes internet, water, heating, electricity, local phone  linens and the final cleaning.  In some cases London telephones are metered for an additional charge.  In these cases the tenant will be informed in advance.

How do I get my apartment keys?

When you arrive at any of our Paris and Rome apartments, a check-in agent will be at the apartment to welcome you.  He/she will show you into the apartment, show you how the machines work and help you connect your computer to the apartment Internet network. This is also the case with most of our London apartments.  A few of our London apartments are in buildings with a check-in desk.  A few of our London apartments have a central key pic-up location within a very short walk of the apartment. If you arrive late, we strongly advise you to book one of our private car transfers in order to avoid the late check-in fee of 75 EUR. The driver will have the keys and let you in.

Am I able to check in to my apartment as soon as I arrive?

If it is possible, you will be able to check in when you arrive. However, if we have a check out on your arrival date, you won’t be able to check in before 2 pm as we need time to clean and prepare the apartment for your stay. We always try to give you the opportunity to leave your luggage in the apartment after 10 am and then you can return at 2 pm when the apartment is ready for you. If you plan to arrive very early in the morning and want to be guaranteed an early check in, we strongly advise you to book the night before.

At what time do I have to check out of the apartment?

The official checkout time is 10 am. If you need to leave the apartment later, it may be possible if we do not have a booking just after you. As with early check in, we advise you to book the night after to guarantee a late checkout.

How does the security deposit work?

In London, in most cases, a security deposit will be paid in advance with final payment for the rental.  It will be returned within a few days of departure from the apartment.

In Paris and Rome we do not ask you to provide a security deposit in advance. At the check in, when you sign the contract, you will provide your credit card information. Nothing will be charged on your card except in case of any damage to the apartment for which you would be responsible. If there is no damage, which is the case 99% of the time, your credit card information will be immediately destroyed.

You will always know in advance what the policy and procedure is for a security deposit.
